Pigment dyed t-shirts are colored after the garment has been cut and sewn. Instead of chemically changing the compound of the fibers in the shirt to give it a deep, rich solid color, pigment dying is chemically bonded to the shirt like a coating. Typically, this causes the shirt to have a little variation in the color tone from shirt to shirt so, there may be slight differences between large runs of garments. Pigment dyed apparel goes through a wash and dry process so, you don’t have to worry about shrinkage as much as other 100% cotton tees.
